About Me

I am starting my 22nd year at Prescott and it’s the only place I’ve been and will be!  I have had the opportunity to teach grades K-3, with 2nd grade being the longest.  I moved to 3rd grade two years ago and it has been an amazing experience, 3rd graders learn SO much!

I was born and raised in Lincoln.  I attended school at Riley Elementary and Lincoln Lutheran Jr. High.  My family moved to an acreage outside of Lincoln and I attended and graduated from Waverly High School.  I attended UNL with a degree in Family Rehabilitation/Early Childhood Education and added an Elementary Endorsement K-6.  My family includes, my husband and two married daughters who are also teachers.  We also have a 3 year old grandson who keeps us every so busy.  We live on an acreage just outside Lincoln and have a dog named Chloe.

My philosophy of education is that every child is a learner and I set high expectations for all.  We are team players and work as a community of learners to be successful in what ever learning in going on in our classroom.  “Be the change you want to see in the World” is the quote I want to leave with my students throughout the year.  I want them to know they can be whatever they want to be with hard work and determination.
