“Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year and to Saratoga, Home of the Saratoga Stars!”
We pride ourselves at being able to offer a safe friendly environment for students and families. Starting this year our Secured Entrance will be door number 8 located by the north parking lot. You will also find that we have visitor parking spaces available in this parking lot. Sandra Machovec is our Secured Entrance Monitor. She will help direct you where you need to go.
Saratoga serves students Pre-school through 5th grade. We have a free of charge breakfast program for all students that starts at 7:45 A.M. Saratoga has the benefit of offering Reading Recovery services to students in grade 1. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade participate in music, art, media and physical education throughout the week. Saratoga students have access to a full computer lab plus each grade level has a cart with laptop computers for them to use during class.
The Saratoga staff works together to help students learn life skills. We use the P.B.I.S (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports) and B.I.S.T. (Behavior Intervention Support Team) programs to help students learn these skills. Our students learn expectations while being protected. They know that it is never okay to be hurtful or disruptive.
Our PTO president is Matt Zier. There will be monthly PTO meetings held on the first Thursday of each month. These meetings will be held in the Saratoga cafeteria from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Babysitting will be available to families who need it.
The Lena Merrill Community Learning Center provides year round programs to our families through educational, social, mental health, and recreational services. The Community Learning Center works in partnership with Lincoln Family Services and Lincoln Public Schools Federal Programs. Please contact me with any questions or comments.
“Our mission is to provide a safe and respectful environment where each student experiences a motivating and challenging curriculum that fosters family involvement and proficiency in all subject areas.”
Mission Snapshot: (This is recited by our staff and students at every Monday Morning Meeting, which is an all school assembly strengthening our school community.)
“The mission of every student, parent and staff is to learn. We know effort works and we give 100%!”
