Tree Assignment: Ser versus Estar

  • You will draw a tree to represent the uses of verbs “ser vs estar”
  • The roots of the tree represent “ser”, because they do not change. Verbo Ser is used to represent more permanent aspects of our life!!! Modelo: Yo soy un chico, soy de Nebraska…..
  • The leaves of the tree represent “estar”, because they constantly change with the seasons (like your feelings or locations): Yo estoy feliz….you could be nervous or sad later, Yo estoy en la escuela …you would be somewhere else later.
  • Write 8 sentences using ser and 8 sentences using estar. Use different subjects.

Bring a picture of when you were a child

  • Write 10 sentences with at least 5 words in each sentence. Tell me things that you used to do when you were a child (imperfect tense). Use 5 trigger words for the imperfect. DO NOT REPEAT THE VERBS 10 pts
  • Write 10 sentences (5 words each) about things that you did in the past (preterit tense) Use 5 trigger words. DO NOT REPEAT THE VERBS 10 pts
  • Memorize 5 sentences of things that you used to do when you were a child to present to the class. In addition, you will read 5 sentences 10 pts

Write complete sentences on a paper and conjugate the verbs in parenthesis using the imperfect tense. Be careful with the endings, there are _ar  _er and_ir verbs.

Write 8 sentences using the verb SER and 8 sentences using the verb ESTAR
