A message from the Principal

Bonnie Spomer, Principal

Welcome to the Maude Rousseau Elementary School website. Our school, with an enrollment of nearly 500 students, opened in 1964 and is named after Maude Rousseau, a long-time Lincoln Public Schools teacher and administrator.

Our mission at Rousseau School is for adults and students to LEARN at high levels, THINK interdependently, and LEAD with character. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and doing whatever it takes to help all students learn and grow. Staff work collaboratively in professional learning teams to meet the diverse needs of all students.

We are fortunate to have an active and energetic Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), as well as supportive and involved parents and greater Rousseau community. The strong partnerships at Rousseau School between staff, students, parents, and community play a key role in our ability to achieve excellence in education.

We hope you find the information on our web site useful in answering any questions you may have about our school. Staff and students invite you to visit us at any time. We think you’ll find Rousseau School to be a warm, welcoming, productive learning community where everyone feels at home.

Most sincerely,

Bonnie Spomer
