Today’s Learning: What happened as a result of the Peloponnesian War?

Warm Up: Imagine you are a Greek citizen and you see all the problems going on! What can you do to save your country? Write a speech (on p. 31 of your notebook) urging your countrymen to fight against enemies like Persia, not our fellow Greeks! You will deliver this speech at a giant agora, and will inspire everyone to become BFFs again!

Class Work: Share your speech with your assigned travel partner. Volunteer to share with the class.

Introduction to Alexander the Great.

Close read – underling, highlight, annotate – Alexander the Great. Then predict how Alexander would feel about Persia and Greece on p. 31 of your notebook. Include evidence – word for word quotes – from the reading to support both of your predictions.
