Fuel Up To Play Booster Rally

Students and staff at Norwood Park Elementary participated in a pep rally to celebrate the grant money received from Midwest Dairy Council. It was a smashing success with Ms. Abigail Apple and Ms. Carrie Carrot, our fruit and vegetable mascots in attendance.  Everyone was excited and engaged with our guests as we did a whole school aerobic dance led by our own physical education teacher, Mrs. Heidbrink.

During the assembly our new Health & Wellness Ambassadors were introduced to the audience.  We have 12 3rd through 5th grade ambassadors that will be teaching yoga exercises to peers and running the “Taste A Rainbow” nutrition events between now and the end of the school year.

The highlight of the assembly was our celebration of our December/January Fruit and Vegetable Challenge.  Students at Norwood Park ate 4, 179 servings of fruit and veggies in the past two months at lunch.  Kudos to everyone for making healthy eating choices!
