About Our School

Norwood Park Elementary, built in 1921 to serve the small community of Havelock, is celebrating its 98th year of service to the families of Northeast Lincoln.  The NP staff is honored to work in this community and strives to provide the best possible education for the children and families we serve.

This past fall we completed a major renovation project to improve our  learning facility. In February of 2014 the LPS Bond was passed and slated our school to receive a new cafeteria, an upgraded school entry and updates with the HVAC systems throughout the building. We are very excited about our new and improved school facility. We are grateful to the Lincoln community and our next door neighbors for their patience as this project progressed over the past two school years. Your support and understanding has been tremendous!

Norwood Park Elementary is a Title 1 school that serves  270+ students in PreSchool through 5th Grade.  In addition to providing a strong academic program for our students, Norwood Park Elementary staff is committed to allocating resources to support improved learning for our children, strengthening the family unit through school sponsored activities. We also maintain strong community connections through our Community Learning Center before and after school programming in partnership with Northeast Family Center, the Heartland Big Brother, Big Sister program, the Lincoln Food Bank Back Pack program and our affiliation with the Havelock Business and Neighborhood Associations.  We have a strong and active Parent-Teacher Organization and Community Council, which oversee the academic program and climate of our school community.

Our mission at Norwood Park is to maximize student achievement, promote lifelong learning, and instill concern for others through meaningful partnerships with families and the community.

Parents may request and the District will provide information regarding the professional qualifications of their student’s teachers and paraprofessionals.
