About Our School

Norwood Park Elementary, built in 1921 to serve the small community of Havelock, is celebrating its 91st year of service to the families of Northeast Lincoln.  In 2009, the school building underwent a major renovation that included installation of air conditioning, the addition of five new classrooms and a beautiful gymnasium.  The building is the focal point for the Norwood Park neighborhood and is connected Sunrise Park.

Norwood Park Elementary is a Title 1 school that serves more than 185 students in PreSchool through 5th Grade.  In addition to providing a strong academic program for our students, Norwood Park Elementary staff is committed to allocating resources to support improved learning for our children, strengthening the family unit through school sponsored activities and developing community connections including our Community Learning Center daycare and clubs, Big Brother, Big Sister program, the Lincoln Food Bank Back Pack program and our affiliation with the Havelock Business Association.  We have a strong and active Parent-Teacher Organization and Community Council, which oversee the academic program and climate of our school community.

Our mission at Norwood Park is to maximize student achievement, promote lifelong learning, and instill concern for others through meaningful partnerships with families and the community.
