*Ready to run like a rafter of turkeys?  Lincoln East High School is hosting their third annual Gobble Wobble 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk on November 18th to raise money for the Nebraska Make A Wish Foundation.  Bring the whole family and your dog too!  Join us for the 5K starting at 10:00 AM and the 1 mile walk starting at 10:45 AM.  Registration forms can be picked up in the office.  The cost is $15, which includes a t-shirt or $10 without a shirt.  Registration forms and payment can be turned in to the Moore office by November 1st which will guarantee you a t-shirt.  You can register after November 1, but you’ll have to return your forms to Lincoln East, and you won’t be guaranteed a t-shirt.  Join us for a day full of photos, snacks, drinks, running and fun to help Lincoln East Student Council grant a wish!

*Today is a PLC early out day.  We dismiss at 1:38 PM. The StarTran bus will not run until the normal dismissal time of 2:58 PM.  Students who need to wait for the bus can do so in the lunchroom.  There are NO after school clubs/activities on PLC early dismissal days.

 

*Just a reminder that students are not to wear Halloween costumes to school today or bring candy to school.  You can participate in the Spirit Week theme which is Teacher/Student Swap Day (dress as your favorite teacher).

*Like A Girl LPS (Empowerment Club) begins tomorrow from 3:15-4:15 PM in Room 229.  Like A Girl club believes all youth, despite their gender, deserve to feel empowered.  When they have the appropriate resources and know their voices matter, they can change our world.  Join Like A Girl LPS, a one of a kind experience that will help you build confidence, tackle gender-based issues, and acquire the necessary tools to stand up for yourself and others.  Piloted at Maxey Elementary School last spring and seeing massive success, we guarantee that you will come out of this program knowing that you are capable of doing absolutely ANYTHING!  This program involves fun, interactive and educational activities that equip future world leaders with knowledge, confidence and a call to action.  We will also be participating in activities through the United Nation’s Foundation Girl Up, a youth-run organization dedicated to advocating, fundraising and bringing awareness to issues girls face throughout the world.

*Any student interested in being part of the Moore Wrestling team, please plan to attend an informational meeting after school today in Room 201.  The meeting will last about 15 minutes.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. Ruisinger.

*Come to the very first meeting of the Moore Robotics Club today from 3:00-4:30 PM in Room #103.  If you are interested in robotics, you can come to the meeting even if you didn’t sign up at Open House.  See Mr. Powers if you have any questions.

*Do you like math?  Math Video Challenge (a division of MathCounts) is meeting for the first time today from 3:05-4:00 PM in room 228.  Students work in teams to make a creative video explaining a math concept.  Their work is then entered into a nation-wide competition.  See Mrs. Henjes for more information.

*Who needs Starbucks when you have “Moorebucks” Book Club!  They are meeting today from 3:15-4:00 PM to discuss the book “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.”
