*If you’re an 8th grader who’s planning on attending East High School and might be interested in applying for Student Council, applications are available in the main office or from Mr. Ruisinger and need to be returned to the office or to the East office by Friday, February 9th.

*The Lincoln East Boys’ Basketball team would like to invite boys in 3rd-8th grade to participate in our Future Spartan Basketball Night on Friday, February 2nd from 6:30-10:00 PM.  A varsity boys’ basketball game as well as a basketball clinic lead by Spartan players and coaches along with pizza, t-shirts, etc. will fill a night of fun for all participants.  Registration forms are available in the Moore office.  The registration fee is $15 and needs to be turned into the East High Athletic Office by tomorrow, January 26th.

*High school enrollment is right around the corner for 8th grade students!  An important component in the transition process is the informational meetings at the six LPS high schools in January.  These meetings are designed to welcome parents and students into the high school and meet with counselors and instructional staff to learn about the opportunities available at that school.  Since students entering ninth grade may choose the high school they want to attend in LPS, these meetings have been scheduled to give you the opportunity to attend more than one high school meeting before the February 2nd deadline for submitting the High School Choice form.

The schedule for the informational meetings is:

Wednesday, January 31st, 2018     Northeast High School          6:30 PM

A letter was sent home detailing this information and included a High School Choice form.  This form must be filled out and returned to the Moore office or Student Services at LPSDO if you want to attend a high school that is outside of your attendance area. The deadline has been moved to February 2nd, 2018.  If you have further questions regarding information nights, please call the appropriate high school’s counseling center.

*The LPS Oral Spelling Bee will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Culler Middle School.  The Spelling Bee is open to students in grades 5-8.  More information is available in the main office or from your English teacher.  Information is also available in the Parent Center on the LPS website.

*Moore Middle School is collecting Box Tops 4 Education!  You can drop them off by the robot in the Media Center.
