*Have you ever imagined not being able to wear shoes all day?  Today is the last day to donate a pair of new or lightly used shoes.  All shoes will go to the People’s City Mission. You can donate the shoes in the bin near the media center.  We’ll also be going a “day without shoes” today to raise awareness for people who don’t have shoes to wear.  You do have to bring shoes to school as you’ll only be able to go without shoes in classroom areas (must wear shoes in hallways, to lunch, during PE).

*This year’s BackPack Extra Mile Walk is April 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln East High School. Did you know it costs about $250 for each student to receive a backpack for a year?  Help LPS meet their 2018 goal of 3,500 participants and $210,000 raised by donating toward this worthy cause.  Any amount of money is welcome!  Checks can be made to the Food Bank of Lincoln.  All money should be turned in to the Moore Health Office.

*Attention 7th graders:  If you think you might be interested in going on the Washington DC/New York City trip next year with Lux’s 8th graders, there’s an information meeting for parents and students on Monday, April 16th OR Thursday, April 19th at 5:30 PM at Lux Middle School in the 8A Pod area. Trip dates are March 8-13, 2019.  For more information, contact Kathi Mercure at 402-432-6678 or

*Attention 7th and 8th graders:  Looking to make some money this summer?  If you’re 13 or older and at least 5 ft 2 inches tall, consider detasseling!  Applications are available in the main office or in Mr. Ruisinger’s office.
