School Improvement Goals

The school wide plan for McPhee Elementary School was developed during the 2004–2005 school year. A data analysis committee compromised of staff and parents reviewed standardized data from the past three years and made various recommendations for target areas and academic goals. A research committee made up of various staff members reviewed the research on “Best Practices” and made recommendations for strategies to be used. The School Improvement Steering Committee comprised of staff, parents and district office personnel then created the Action Plan based on all these recommendations. Staff Development Activities were organized based on this Action Plan. Transition and Parent Involvement Strategies were developed. The following goals emerged from this year-long work:

  1. All students will improve reading comprehension across the curriculum.
  2. All students will improve writing across the curriculum.
  3. All students will improve math computation.
  4. All parents will increase their involvement in their child’s education.
