FBLA Letter Requirements

In the Spring of 2013 Southeast High put together “Letter Criteria” and successfully established the ability for their students to letter in FBLA.  In the Fall of 2013 they shared this information with the other 6 Lincoln FBLA chapters.  Southwest FBLA submitted the “Letter Criteria” to the Southwest Administration during the 2013-2014 school year and was approved in April 2014.  The first letters in FBLA at Lincoln Southwest High School were presented at the Chapter Banquet on May 8, 2014

Information about how to letter in FBLA is below:

ELIGIBILITY:
Students must meet a minimum of ONE criteria from EACH section listed below

SERVICE

  • Participate in the majority of chapter service (school & community) activities
  • Participate in a majority of chapter meetings, social events, & professional activities (80%+)
  • Earn a Community Service Award (CSA) – Future Level or Higher
  • Leadership or major involvement in a committee or activity

LEADERSHIP

  • Officer Position at either the Chapter, State, or National Level
  • Run for a State or National Office
  • Attend either the State or National Fall Leadership Conference

PROFESSIONALISM

  • Earn the All-State Quality Member Award at the State Leadership Conference
  • Earn the Who’s Who Award at the State Leadership Conference
  • Earn a Business Achievement Award – Future Level or Higher
  • Qualify for the National Leadership Conference

APPLICATION:
Summarize your experiences related to the criteria listed above.  If you make a strong case for your eligibility even if you do not meet all the requirements, you may still receive a letter.  FBLA is a Business Organization so sell yourself!!  Tell me why you deserve an FBLA letter!

               Examples –

  • If you did not qualify for NLC but made the Top 8 and actively participated in SLC Preparation
  • If you did not run for a State or National Office but were a campaign manager or very involved in campaigning for another member of our chapter
