Welcome to the Southwest FBLA Website!!

Southwest FBLA continues to have success at both the State and National levels of competition.  This last summer, we sent 6 students to compete at the National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Atlanta, Ga.  This marked the 8TH STRAIGHT YEAR of Southwest students qualifying for NLC, and the 9th time we have sent students since our chapter was founded in 2002.

This year we are trying something new when it comes to our student leaders.  We have stepped away from the traditional “Officer Roles” where every person has specific duties and are embracing the new Leadership Team format our adviser, Mr. Hinrichs, has learned about from his colleagues Mrs. Hinkle (Bellevue West High School) and Mrs. Budler (Chadron High School).  This new format should allow for even greater growth of each student on the team as each student will rotate through the various duties of the traditional “Officer Team” during the course of the school year.  The leadership team members are:

SENIORS – Danielle N. & Julia N.
JUNIORS – Zach M., Ashley S., & Grayson W.

S.A.L.T. – Summer Academy for the Leadership Team
As has been tradition for as long as Mr. Hinrichs has been the adviser, the Leadership Team is elected at the end of the school year for the following school year.  Those members then meet in the summer to help come up with the goals, committees, and calendar of events to be used for the upcoming school year.  This year’s meeting was held off school grounds for the first time.  Members met at the LPS District Office to help provide a more “business-like” setting.  A lot was accomplished.  The three goals that were written for this year’s Leadership Team to work on are as follows:

1. Increase chapter membership by at least 7 members
2. 20% of our membership will complete at least ONE new level of the Business Achievement Awards
3. We will complete all tasks related to the National FBLA Office’s Commemorative “Diamond Chapter Award”

The members and adviser for Southwest FBLA invite you to join us and see what we are all about.  We meet in room B200 at 7:20am on selected Thursdays.  Please refer to the calendar link for information about upcoming meetings.

Looking forward to another great year!  Be sure to like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, & SnapChat!

Thank You for Supporting YOUR Southwest FBLA!!
