The deadline for the 2017 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards is quickly approaching. Students in grades 5-12 that have volunteered within the past year are encouraged to apply. Awards are granted at the local, state and national level to both middle level and high school students in every state and the District of Columbia. The top honorees from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia receive a cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. for four days of special recognition events.
Here’s how students can apply:
- Visit http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit
- Complete the application and the student/parent agreement by November 8, 2016
- Email or hand-deliver certification instructions to a middle or high school principal, or the head of a county 4-H organization, Girl Scout council, American Red Cross chapter, YMCA or HandsOn Network affiliate
