The Salvation Army is now accepting nominations for the 2019 D.J’s Hero Awards. 

The awards recognize 11 Nebraska high school seniors who exemplify D.J.’s selflessness, leadership and commitment to the community. Award recipients receive a $10,000 scholarship toward their selected university or college.

Nomination forms must be postmarked or received via email by Saturday, March 2, 2019. Please return the 1) completed nomination form, 2) nominator’s responses to the questions, and 3) nominee’s essay.

Alumni Scholarship Program

Two $500 scholarships are available to Lincoln seniors who are alumni of Maude Rousseau Elementary School. We are looking for students who exemplify the Rousseau mission:

Application Deadline: April 30, 2019

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  • Lincoln Public Schools Senior student
  • Attended Rousseau Elementary school for at least 1 full year
  • Acceptance to a higher education program (College, University, Trade, etc.)

Application Requirements:

  • 500 word essay about how you plan to continue to live the Rousseau motto:

Learn at high levels…..Think interdependently…..Lead with Character

  • 3 Character Recommendations (see Recommendation form)
