On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Educational talent Search (ETS) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be in partnership with Lincoln Northeast High School (LNE) to provide a professional test prep presentation right before the April 3rd ACT exam. The presenter, Mr. Charles Ladd, uses students’ present skill levels to help them more effectively perform on standardized tests, giving every student the best chance to achieve at his or her highest potential. This presentation will focus on pre-test readiness, time management skills, and combating test anxiety. Those who have attended this workshop in the past have improved their scores anywhere between 3-8 points! This could happen for you too, giving you a better chance of getting into the college of your choice, meeting college-readiness cut scores and athletic eligibility requirements, and obtaining academic scholarships!

Presenter fees and needed student materials are all provided by ETS and LNE. The day’s events are worth over $150/student, but can be yours FREE! If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with at least a 2.5 grade point average (or teacher/counselor recommendation), complete the ETS application and return it to the Counseling Center as soon as possible. ETS is a grant-funded TRIO program through the Department of Education, so specific questions regarding citizenship, income, and level of education must be asked. Please note: ETS needs this information, not Lincoln Public Schools. Without this information, students will not be permitted to join the program or attend this very important and effective workshop. A complete application is essentially your ticket into this FREE event, but all personal information will be kept in the strictest of confidence. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact ETS mainline at (402) 472-8989; ETS Assistant Director Vaughn Robertson at (402) 472-8994, (402) 417-5079, or vrobertson1@unl.edu; or LNE’s ETS Specialist, Ms. Natalie Frederick, at (402) 472-8985, (402) 450-6481, or nfrederick2@unl.edu.
