Junior year is when the application process to the United States Air Force Academy truly begins. Students will start by filling out the Pre-Candidate Questionnaire, which becomes available online March 1 every year and starts the application process. What would you do if you were president?

·         Except for renewals, candidates shall have incoming freshman class standing and shall be pursuing a major in the College of Engineering, University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Lincoln or Omaha campus)

·         Candidates shall have earned an ACT score of 27 or higher.

·         First preference shall be given to candidates who are graduates of Northeast High School, Lincoln, Nebraska, or any successor secondary school.

·         Candidates shall have demonstrated academic and leadership abilities through leadership involvement and/or accomplishments in scholastics, high school athletics, community, and/or civic organizations.

Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship Program

Deadline:  February 10, 2017

Seniors working for Hy-Vee who began employment on or before Sept. 15, 2016, or a high school senior son and/or daughter of a full-, regular-, or part-time Hy-Vee or subsidiary employee who has a minimum of six months employment as of Setp. 15, 2016, AND Applicant must be enrolling in college for the first time.

Tip Top Tux Scholarship Program – Seniors

Deadline:  March 1, 2017

Four individual scholarships in the amount of $5000, $2500, $1500, and $1000 will be awarded to area seniors.  Awards will be based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need and volunteer service in their community.

Cornhusker Kiwanis Scholarship

The Cornhusker Kiwanis Club offers three scholarships of $1,500 each for graduating seniors from an accredited high school in Lancaster County, Nebraska.  Criteria:

*Rank in upper 25% of graduating class

*Typed application, school transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
