Consider the following Scholarships:

Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship: Application critera: 2.5 GPA and higher with an approx. family income below $95,000, and school/community involvement; planning to attend a Nebraska public university or community college. Deadline: Feb. 1st.   https://app.buffettscholarships.org/

Lincoln Community Foundation Scholarships – The application window opens Dec. 15th. Several scholarships are designated for LNE Seniors! Go to http://www.lcf.org/ or ScholarshipQuest for applications.

Titan Machinery Sponsorship Program

The Titan Machinery sponsorship program will pay Central Community College diesel technology program school costs, including tuition, fees, books, and tools. Sponsorship does not provide for room and board. Selected students will be asked to work for Titan Machinery for two years upon completing their CCC diesel program AAS degree. Application Deadline: March 1, 2016. See Mrs. Peaslee if interested.

Peru State College Cooperating Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating Senior in top half of class, active in school, possess leadership qualities. Applicant must attend Peru State College beginning Fall 2016.

Amount: One-half on-campus tuition per term; up to a maximum of 128 credit hours over 4 years.

Deadline: January 15, 2016 – Return to LNE Counseling Center.

14To the graduating class of 2016………The graduation list is posted outside of the Counseling Center, on the bulletin board.  Diplomas are ordered off on this list.  Legal first name, legal middle name, and legal last name.  Please check the list, to make sure your name is spelled correctly.  After checking for accuracy, see Mrs. Reed (Registrar- in the Counseling Center) to sign off on your name.

The Lincoln Northeast High School Counseling Center will be hosting our annual Senior Financial Aid night on Tuesday, December 8, at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium. Counselors and a College Planning Specialist from EducationQuest will be making a presentation and answering questions regarding financial aid and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For any student planning to enroll in college next year, attending this workshop with a parent or guardian should be a top priority.

Mid-Term Graduates – Please attend the Mid-Term Graduate meeting this Thursday, December 10th, 3rd period in Room 115.

The Joyce Ivy Foundation is a non-profit, 501c3 committed to the academic advancement and leadership development of young women from the Midwest.

  • The Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars program is available to female high school students in Michigan, Ohio, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota. Summer Scholars are academically high-achieving students who will be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2016. Most Summer Scholars will be entering 11th or 12th grade.

saltdogsA $500 College Scholarship will be awarded to Two Baseball players who have participated on Junior Saltdogs teams (previously Lincoln Little League).

Eligibility

  1. Current high school Senior enrolled in an accredited high school, graduating spring 2016.
  2. Applied to a 2 or 4-year accredited college or university.
  3. Participated on Junior Saltdogs League (previously Lincoln Little League) teams for at least two years.

To apply:  Complete the 2016 Scholarship Application Form and mail it and one letter of recommendation (postmarked by April 15, 2016) to:

The Scholarship Selection Committee will review all applications and select the recipients. The winners will be notified by mail by May 31, 2016, and recognized in the Season Highlights article in the Journal Star’s Neighborhood Extra in August.

Upon notification, scholarship recipients will need to provide proof of college or university acceptance to receive scholarship. The scholarship check will be sent directly to the college/university financial aid office.
