Dual Credit at LNE: Southeast Community College Dual Credit deadline is this Wednesday, August 27. Turn in both forms signed and complete with your Social Security Number and email address to you teacher. Financial aid is available through the Learn to Dream Scholarship and the Nebraska ACE scholarship. Pick up your Learn to Dream Application in the Counseling Center or go on-line to apply for the ACE Scholarship.
The United States Senate Youth Program is a unique educational experience for outstanding juniors and seniors in high school who are Stu-Co members and interested in pursuing careers in public service. The annual program will be held in Washington, D.C., from March 7 – 14, 2015. Two student leaders from each state will spend a week in Washington experiencing their national government in action. Each student delegate will receive a $5,000 undergraduate college scholarship, in addition to an all-expenses paid trip to the nation’s capital. Application are available from Mrs. Lohmeyer or Mr. Brooks or Mrs. Moore and are due October 8.
Community Service/Volunteer Hours Option at Dawes and Lefler Middle Schools: 4-H Tech Wizards. It’s Small-group mentorship with up to four youth using hands-on technology curriculum to engage youth and increase their involvement in their education. Volunteer 2-3 hours at a time with flexibility. Great way to serve the future work force of our community. It’s a great opportunity for future teachers to accrue hours and build a resume.
