Good morning.

Our next assignment is the Feature Photo. You will be taking photos in classrooms again, and this time I want you to gather complete information for your captions.

Today I’d like you to do some more caption writing practice.
Click here to go to the practice page and follow the directions CAREFULLY.

Some of you did well on this the first time around, but you’ve missed points on assignments because of incorrect captions.

Doing this practice will help you to remember what kind of information you need, and it will make sure you know the correct format for the captions of your photos. Remember that you can’t resubmit this assignment, so you’ll need to get the captions correct the first time.

To make sure you have all of the information you need, be sure to:
1. Take photos of the board with notes on the day’s assignment.
2. Take photos of any worksheets that students are working on or the books they are reading.
3. Also, we need to be sure to get names and grades for everyone you photograph. Take photos of IDs if they have them, or write down their names on a piece of paper.
4. Take MULTIPLE photos of each person from DIFFERENT ANGLES.
5. Use the RULE OF THIRDS to improve composition.

We’ll talk a bit more about this assignment tomorrow, and then we’ll take photos on Wednesday and Thursday.

Good morning.

Today you should be finishing up your Cut Out Background assignment. It is due TODAY at the end of the period. If you need help with Photoshop, let me know. Otherwise you have class time to work on them.

Be sure to tell me to upload your site and CHECK ONLINE to make sure everything is working.

Remember that you need 5 photos for this assignment: One of each of the three effects we covered yesterday (Plain Background, Blurred Background, and Combined) and then two more of any of the effects.

ALSO: Remember that starting 4th quarter (this week) assignments may NOT be resubmitted. They MUST be turned in on time in order to receive credit. Late assignments will be a zero.

Many of you did not turn in your Sports Assignment on time (they were due on Tuesday). That is a zero in the grade book. If you get it in this week, I will still accept it, but you will lose 10 points for each day it is late.

Good morning! Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed your break.

Today I’d like you to start by looking at the 2019 SPRING SPORTS SIGNUP.

We need photos of spring sports for the Yearbook, and our deadline is April 3rd, so we need photos taken this week and next week. I need photos of ALL sports (varsity, JV, Reserve, and Freshman, so I need at least one person to sign up for each team. If someone has already signed up for one sport, please pick a different sport until all teams are covered.

We will also discuss how to take spring sports photos and where to stand.

You should have a MINIMUM of 500 action photos for this assignment.

After you sign up, please continue working on your Sports assignment. Since we had the snow day before break, we didn’t have time to get these done. They are due Tomorrow at the end of class. Be sure to look at the assignment description to see how the captions need to be written.

Tuesday, March 5, 2019

Good morning. Sorry I’m not here today. I’m at home with my daughter who is sick.

Today you should continue working on formatting, cropping, captioning and exporting your Fashion Photos. These are due at the end of the period TOMORROW.

Be sure to double check how to do captions for this assignment and make sure you have it Linked from your Home Page.

If you are finished with the Fashion Photos, you should work on you Winter Sports Photos Assignment. This is Due on Friday.
Here is a link to the assignment description. Again, look carefully at how to write captions for these photos.

Monday, March 4, 2019

Good morning!

Today I’d like you to work on formatting and submitting your Fashion Photos.

You need 10 photos for this assignment (preferably 10 different people).

Be sure to CROP the photo to improve Composition if necessary. Observe the Rule of Thirds, and crop out any distracting elements in the photo. Don’t crop too narrowly, however, and keep some space around the person. Keep the photo basically the same shape as the original. You do NOT have to include the original for this assignment, only the cropped photo should be in the gallery.

Caption: 3 Sentences
Follow standard caption writing guidelines for identifying the person (full name and grade number in parentheses), except that for this one you’ll be saying that she/he poses for a fashion photo. In the second sentence, describe what they’re wearing. In the third sentence, say how they describe their style.

Example:
Anthony Gonzalez (10) poses for a fashion photo during 3rd period in the 3rd Floor East hallway. Gonzalez is wearing jeans, a plain T-shirt, and black and white Chuck Taylor high top tennis shoes. He describes his style as “comfortable casual.”
