STUDENT NEWS:
- 6th-8th grade boys are invited to attend the Lincoln East Future Spartan Basketball Night on Friday, Feb. 2. If you are interested, stop by the main office and pick up a registration form.
- Any 8th graders going to Lincoln East who are interested in Student Council please pick up an application in the front office! Applications are due Friday, Feb. 2.
- Lefler Singers will begin on Monday. We are doing a mini musical from the 50’s with dialog and singing and choreography. Meet in 103 after school.
- The 2nd Quarter Hangout is today after school until 4:15 p.m. for all students who met the 2nd Quarter criteria. There will be games, open gym, and a dance with music by DJ Haws! The concession stand will also be open from 3:30-4:10 in the cafeteria and will have pizza, popcorn, and pop for sale. Be sure to bring your money if you want to buy any concessions (no bills larger than $5.00, please). Check in the cafeteria for your name or check with your counselor to see if you are eligible. If you have Team Time or Achievement Zone, you must complete your time there before attending the Hangout. Also, be sure to tell your rides ahead of time to pick you up promptly at 4:15.
- Attention 8th Graders: Please check the list posted in the cafeteria to see what high school you are assigned to based on your address. You may attend any high school, but if you are planning to attend a high school other than your home high school, you must turn in a school choice form. These were mailed to you before break or you can pick one up in the Counseling Center. Choice forms are due by January 31st. You can turn them into the Counseling Center or send them directly to the district office. If you haven’t decided which high school you would like to attend, there are information nights at each one coming up this month. Those dates are also posted in the cafeteria. - The LPS Oral Spelling Bee will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Culler Middle School. The Spelling Bee is open to students in grades 5-8. More information is available in the main office or from your English teacher. Information is also available in the Parent Center on the LPS website.
