What: Lefler Middle School Cub Camp
Who: All Incoming 6th Graders
When: August 1st – 4th (Please select which session you will be attending on the enrollment form):
- Morning Cub Camp 8:30-11:30
- Afternoon Cub Camp 12:00-3:00
Fee: $10 (Includes the cost of a Cub Camp t-shirt and meals):
- Breakfast served for morning camp from 8:00-8:30
- Lunch served for both morning and afternoon camps from 11:30-12:00

About Lefler Cub Camp:
The transition from elementary school to middle school can make students and families a bit nervous. In order to make the shift less stressful, Lefler and the YMCA CLC, partner to offer a transition experience, Cub Camp, for incoming 6th graders. Over 4 days, from 8:30-11:30 or 12:00-3:00 students will:
- Learn the layout of the building
- Connect with Lefler and CLC staff
- Meet other incoming 6th graders
- Learn the fine art of opening a combination lock
- Practice reading and following a schedule
- Understand Lefler procedures and expectations
Lefler and the YMCA CLC staff have offered the camp for the past four summers. We have found that students who attend the camp are less nervous and more prepared to begin their middle school experience. We hope your child will be able to attend this valuable experience.
