Time: There will be two sessions. The Small School Division will run in Session 1 which starts at 8:30 a.m. The Large School Division will run in Session 2 which begins at 10:30 a.m.. Runner order will start with oldest grades proceeding down to the youngest grades. All non-LPS and parochial schools will run in the 8:30 session. Please plan to arrive shortly before your scheduled run time. You do NOT have to arrive at the beginning of your session. Carpooling is HIGHLY recommended as parking congestion is likely with almost 2,500 runners and families.

Course Description: The course will be run in beautiful Pioneers Park, located on the southwest edge of Lincoln. This one-mile course runs over gentle, grass covered rolling hills. Fans will have a great opportunity to view the runners as they complete their mile run. Pioneers Park is the home cross country course for the University of Nebraska, Nebraska Wesleyan University and all Lincoln area high schools.
Entry fee: $10 if registered by September 30. $13 if registered between October 1 and 5 p.m. October 14. No race day entries will be accepted.
Note: Parents are allowed to run with their child free of charge. However, if the parents want to receive a 2011 Pumpkin Run t-shirt with the run, they need to register online and pay the entry fee.
Packet pickup: PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR P.E. TEACHER TO FIND OUT IF PACKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP AT YOUR SCHOOL. If not, runners are welcome to pick up their packet at the Nebraska Sports Council office located at 4903 N 57th St in Lincoln. Packets will be available for pick-up 8 a.m.–6 p.m. the week of October 10–October 14.
School Awards: Schools will be divided into a Large School Division (470 or more students) and a Small School Division (469 or less students). Award plaques will be given in the two divisions and award winners will be determined by the percentage of their student body enrolled in the race. The top three schools in each division will receive a plaque. Entries must be received by Thursday, October 6 to count toward the school’s total. Schools with at least 10% of their student body registered will also receive a plaque.
T-shirts: T-shirts are awarded to all runners who register by October 10. Be sure to mark the size of the t-shirt on the entry form.
Parking: It’s best to enter Pioneers Park using the West Van Dorn Street entrance. Parking attendants will direct participants where to park.
