Social Studies:
In support of Nebraska State Social Studies standards, dozens of new lessons based on “Reading like a Historian” principles have been developed and posted on Docushare and the LPS social studies website for grade 8 (http://wp.lps.org/socst/). Teachers may draw upon their practitioner expertise to modify the lessons in order to accommodate their students.
Grading in middle school social studies will shift to 80% summative, 20% formative.
