Interior Design:

Class Description –Architecture and Construction Nebraska Career Cluster:

 

Integrate knowledge, skills and practices utilized by individuals and professionals in housing and interior design.

 

Expectations:

 

  1. Come to class prepared, have folder/work tray, something to write with and paper.
  2. Be on time, tardies will be counted and turned in to your administrator.
  3. Snack food and drinks are allowed, please pick up after yourself.
  4. Cell Phones are ONLY allowed with teachers permission and for curriculum reasons.
  5. Be respectful to yourself, visitors to this class, and to your classmates.
  6. You are responsible for all missing work, get notes from a classmate and/ or see homework bin for missing worksheets.
  7. Restroom breaks are allowed with teacher permission, lanyard on and you must have your planner. NO BREAKS the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes of class.

 

 

Interior Design Standards-NASAFACS 11.1-11.7

 

Standard 1 – Students will analyze career paths within housing, interior design and furnishings indutries.

Standard 2 – The students will evaluate the clients needs, goals and resources in creating design plans for residential interiors.

Standard 3 – The student will analyze design and development of architecture, interiors and furnishings throughout the ages.

Standard 4 –The student will demonstrate design, construction reading and space planning.

Standard 5 –The student will apply housing and interior design knowledge to meet specific goals.

Standard 6– The student will evaluate housing and design concepts.

Standard 7 –The student will apply design knowledge, skills, processes and oral, written and visual presentation skills to communicate concepts.

Standard 8– Homebuilding Project

 

 

 

 

 

Grading: All assignments/projects are worth a certain number of assigned points, all points are accumulative and will result in your overall grade. Any assignment not turned in at all is a “0.”

 

Final: You will have a summative final for this class, please keep all notes given to you over the semester, this is your responsibility.

 

 

 

*All assignments are due at the beginning of class on the date due.

It is your responsibility to find out what notes and assignments you missed by contacting me outside of class time, or another classmate ahead of time or as soon as possible. Check make-up bin/folder as well.

 

 

 

Everyone in this class will succeed, my goal for you is that you learn what Interior Design is, you have fun learning the subject and that you become a better person/decorator because of it.

 

My door or e-mail is always open if you have questions/concerns. Please keep the lines of communication open so I can better serve your learning.

 

 

Requirements: 1 two- pocket folder and paper for journaling.

 

 

 

 

THIS ClASS MAY REQUIRE FOR YOU TO SPEND SOME OF YOUR OWN MONEY OR WITH PERMISSION, YOUR PARENTS MONEY TO BUY ACCESSORIES THAT YOU MAY NEED FOR PROJECTS.
