Formative I do not believe in accepting late work, but, I do know that there are certain circumstances in which late work is necessary. Homework is not busy work, it is practice in order to perfect your Spanish skills. If I do assign homework, I expect it to be handed into me, completed, on the day I tell you that it is due, unless you and I come to a pre-arranged agreement. If for some reason, the homework (formative) is late, there will be 2 points taken off the homework for each day that it is late up until the lesson quiz or until the points value of the homework run out. Remember that these points also do not count for the points that will be taken off for any mistakes made on the homework itself.
*For example, if homework #5 was due on Tuesday and was worth 20 points but you did not hand it in until Thursday and made 5 points worth of mistakes on it, your grade for this assignment would be 11/20.
For each homework assignment we do, I will post the assignment here on my website so that if you are gone, you can take a look at what we did and either print it off at home or speak with me the next day (before or after school or before or after class) and show me the assignment you need me to print off for you.
Summative There will be quizzes for every lección There will be tests for every unidad We will do many group and individual projects and presentations
You will know when a quiz, test or presentation is coming up whether it be on this website or on the board at school. You will have plenty of time to prepare yourself for these summative assessments. Remember, I am here for you and want you to succeed.
It is extremely important to be in class and on time on test, quiz, and presentation days. I do not allow make-up tests, quizzes, or presentations unless there are extenuating circumstances. If you know you will be gone on these days, you must come speak with me beforehand so we can make arrangements. It is your responsibility to contact me in regards to making arrangements.
