Prescott Students will be taking the MAP test this year. We will be doing the Reading test on October 24th and 25th and the Math portion on November 8th and 9th.
These tests are important but not stressful. Help us encourage our students to do their best work on the MAP but not to worry about it too much.
Please make sure our students get a good night’s sleep the night before testing and help make sure they have the opportunity to eat a healthy, hearty breakfast that morning.
The Unit 2 Math Test is Friday October 20th.
Please be sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and is able to have a good breakfast that morning at home or at school.
There will be NO HOMEWORK Friday, October 20th due to the test.
Remember! There is NO SCHOOL this Friday, October 13th, Monday, October 16th or Tuesday, October 17th.
Wednesday, October 4th, 5th grade students will be doing their First Quarter Writing Assessment. Students will be asked to Write a descriptive paragraph using imagery, sensory words and figurative language.
Ok, there isn’t an LPS in “Healthy” but that doesn’t mean Healthy can’t be in LPS. We encourage our students to eat healthy all the time. Here is a link to the LPS Nutrition Resources–Check it out!
That means this is the week of our UNIT ASSESSMENT.
There will be NO SPELLING this week but we will be working through the Unit Assessment all week. Please help your student(s) out but making sure they are getting a good night’s rest and have an opportunity at home or at school to eat a good breakfast. Thanks.
The Elementary Report Card (ERC) is a standards-based report. That is, students are measured against an absolute standard/expectation, not their progress toward meeting that standard. In mathematics, students’ progress is measured in four different content strands: Number (NUM), Algebra (ALG), Geometry (GEO), and Data (DAP). Students are also given a score for work/study habits.
Don’t miss out on Family Learning Night. September 7th. There will be 2 sessions one at 6:00 and one at 6:45 so that parents with more than one student at Prescott can attend at least two grade-level sessions.
5th Grade sessions will be held in Room 205 and Room 102.
There will be two sessions! 6:00-6:45 and 6:45-7:30…
Please make plans to attend! This will be an opportunity to meet teachers and talk about the curriculum.
We look forward to seeing you there!
