4th Grade Team Page
Welcome to the Kloefkorn 4th Grade Team!
The 2016-2017 school year is about to begin, and we are working to build our fourth grade learning community with strong relationships and high expectations. We believe strongly in the family-school partnership, and we will communicate important information with you through our weekly team emails and this webpage. As always, feel free to call or e-mail if you have questions, suggestions, or ideas to share. We are looking forward to building a fun and successful year together!
Fund-A-Need receives and reviews proposals from Lincoln Public Schools teachers who want their students to have an experience for which the school does not offer funding. Our Kloefkorn 4th grade students are seeking funding assistance for technology resources to benefit their learning. If you are looking for an opportunity to support our Kloefkorn Cubs, please take a look at the following link. Thank you to our many Kloefkorn families and friends for their gracious and generous support.

Many families have asked about contributing supplies to our classrooms. All essential supplies will be provided for each student, and there is no required supply list for fourth grade. Students are welcome to bring their own homework folders to school. If you are looking for an opportunity to donate to your child’s classroom we would appreciate any of the following items.
- Pencils – Ticonderoga – WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF MORE PENCILS!
- Post-it notes in all colors
- Colored pencils
- Lined paper – wide ruled
- Expo dry erase markers
- Board games for indoor recess
Our bottom line at Kloefkorn School:
It is NEVER okay to be hurtful. It is NEVER okay to be disruptive.
Goals for Life
- I can take good care of myself, even if I am mad.
- I can be productive and follow directions even if I don’t want to.
- I can be okay, even when others are not okay.
A spelling list will be sent home each Friday. All students are expected to prepare for the 20 words on the regular list. Students are also encouraged to try the “challenge” and “review” words. Spelling tests will be given on Fridays, and students will set weekly spelling goals based on these results. If your child has misplaced their list, you may click on this link “Forms, handouts, and more!” . This link can also be found at the bottom right of this page.
We are working to help students develop their organizational skills. We are also hoping to foster communication with families. To do this, each student will be given a planner, and we are asking students to record their daily assignments and share this information with their parents.
Homework assignments will be purposeful extension and seen as part of the students’ continuous learning process. Their assignments will reflect what they have previously learned in the classroom. Each night, students will bring home a two-sided math page. In addition, students will spend time each night reading and practicing their spelling words. Parents can support their student by providing a good homework environment including a quiet work space and necessary school supplies. Setting a specific time for homework each day works well for most families.
