Gifts, Treats, and Invitations Reminder

Money cannot be collected to buy gifts for school personnel. Exceptions can be made in the case of personal misfortune, or if a special honor is being given to a student, parent/guardian, or school staff member. Classrooms recognize birthdays in a variety of ways. Students are not allowed to bring birthday treats (edible or nonedible). Please do not send gifts, party favors, balloons, or flowers. These items will not be delivered to classrooms. Invitations will not be distributed during the school day. Teachers should be notified ahead of time if a student has invitations to distribute after school. Phone numbers and addresses cannot be distributed by any school personnel. Parent Teacher Conferences (K-5) (Update)

Parent Teacher Conferences are being held on February 21st and 23rd from 3:30-7:00. Conferences are 15 minutes long and we ask that you not schedule any back to back appointments. Sign up is now live and will close this Sunday night at midnight. (Read More)

Kindergarten Registration 2017-18 (Update)

Kindergarten Packets with important forms needed for registration went out last Friday. You should be receiving them within the next week. Kindergarten Registration will be on March 8th from 8:00AM-6:00PM and March 9th from 8:00AM-4:30PM. (Read More)

Nominate Your Favorite Teacher!

In honor of Nebraska Teacher Recognition Day – Tuesday, March 7, 2017 – Lincoln Public Schools and KFOR/KFRX Radio are again collaborating to thank our educators with the annual Thank You Teacher contest. Nominations must be received by 5 p.m., Friday, February 10. (Read More)

Middle School Open House Dates (New- 5th grade only)

5th Grade students will be receiving information about open house dates from their assigned middle school soon. Lux will have theirs on March 23rd and 27th at 7:00PM. Moore is still TBD. If you have questions about other middle school open houses please call.

Upcoming NeSA Testing (Grades 3rd-5th Only)

Kloefkorn students in grades 3rd-5th will be participating in the Nebraska State Accountability English Language Arts (NeSA-ELA), Math (NeSA-M) and Science (NeSA-S) tests with their teachers during March and April. (Read More

Summer Technology Program (New- Grades 4th-9th)

The Lincoln Public Schools Summer Technology Program is provided for students entering grades 4-9 in the fall of 2017. The goal of the program is to provide upper elementary and middle level students a fun, exciting, and challenging opportunity to explore their interest in computers and technology. Over 20 week-long classes available in computer science, digital media, and robotics. Morning and afternoon sessions! Registration opens March 1st. (Read More)

Volunteers Needed – Book Fair

This past Fall, we sold about $5,000 worth of books and about $2,000 went to the Kloefkorn library as a combination of cash and scholastic dollars. 52 books were donated by families to teachers. Volunteers Needed- Parent-Teacher Conferences

Yearbook Orders

Order forms went home today for yearbook orders. You can order one by filling out the form and sending payment to the school by March 1st or by ordering online by following this link and entering code 11701517. Yearbooks are $18.04. All checks need to be made out to Lifetouch. (Read More)

Kloefkorn Science Fair

The Kloefkorn Science Fair will be on Monday, Febuary 27th from 5:30PM to 6:30PM. Projects may be set up that morning. Projects will not be judged and only 5th graders are required to participate, but it is open to all grades. You can register online at https://kloefkornpto.org/science-fair. Spring Classroom Party

Our Spring Classroom Parties will be held on Tuesday, February 14th, about 2 weeks away.  Parties last 30 minutes and will be held at the following times:

  • Preschool – 10:00AM
  • 1st grade – 1:20PM
  • All Other Grades (K, 2-5) – 2:15PM

The party should involve kids eating the PTO-provided snack, and 1-2 games and/or crafts.
