The summer of 2019 has come to a close and the 2019 – 2020 school year has began. I am really excited to meet the new 8th grade class. I have had many adventures this summer including going to visit Ashfall in central Nebraska. I can’t wait to share them with my students.
This is year is expecially exciting because 8th grade has new standards, and as a district we are moving toward “3D” learning. This means the traditional “sit and get” learning is out, and students will be exploring, critical thinking, and figuring out the concepts in class. I will no longer be posting an weekly agenda at the beginning of the week, but will update the LMS page at the end of the week with everything we learned. Using this update and interactive binders in class, students will be able to make up the work they have missed. Please be patient as we learn this new system together.
On this website you will find all the information you need to know for Mrs. Hammond’s 8th grade science classes, as well as important websites. This website will be updated frequently with class activities, important information, helpful tips, and homework reminders. My contact information and schedule is to the left and you can find me in room 115 before or after school. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free so send me an email. I can’t wait to get started!
