About Mr. Erb

Greetings!

I had the privilege of opening this school in 2009, and after working for the Lincoln Education Association from 2012-2017, it is GREAT to be back at Kooser Elementary.

Music has always been an important part of my life.  Growing up in Milford, Nebraska, I was involved in every music opportunity offered in Milford Public Schools.  Through high school and college I was active in music and teaching at First Plymouth Church. While attending the University of Nebraska I played tuba in the Cornhusker Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and several Pep-Bands.

In 2003 I joined the Nebraska National Guard, and was a member of the 43rd Army Band for 12 years.  In the 43rd Army Band my jobs included: Tuba, saxophone, guitar, piano, vocals, and bus driving.  As military musicians we would play at National Guard and State Government functions, tour Nebraska and other states during our annual training, and maintain readiness for riot control, natural disasters, and infectious disease outbreaks.

I am a proud member of my local, state, and national education associations.  In my previous role as UniServ Director with LEA I worked with LPS/LEA Contract Negotiations, School Board and Legislative contact teams, lobbying and advocacy work at the State Capitol, and assisting LEA members (Teachers in Lincoln) with anything they could possibly need.

My wife Morgan and I just celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary.  We keep ourselves busy traveling, gardening, exercising, and hanging out with our friends.  We love to make music together in a folk band with our friends and as musicians in high school we were “married” as characters in a musical 6 years before we were married in real life.  Just goes to show, that you can make some lasting friends while participating in the arts!
