Make a Book Jacket Book Project

Due October 4th

Directions

1.  Look at several examples of book jackets before beginning this project.

2. Using construction paper of whatever color you wish, design a book jacket that will be folded like the picture below.  You may use any size paper you wish but you must fold it to look like a book jacket.

3. You may use the computer or create your book jacket by hand, or use a combination of both.

4. Be original! Be creative! Use color! Have fun!

5.  See the diagram below for what goes in each portion of the book jacket.

 

INSIDE REARCOVER FLAP

About the Author.  List the author’s name and something about him or her, education, where he/she lives, etc.  Write this in your own words.

BACK COVER

List the title and author and any awards the book may have received.

Write a summary of the book from the viewpoint of someone employed at a book review company.  Give hints about exciting events that will happen, but don’t give the answers.

Write 3-4 quotes you or your friends might have said about the book

Find and write an interesting quote from the story that will make readers want to open the cover and keep reading! This can be a single quote that is several lines or 2 quotes.
