About Me

Greetings!  My name is Jennifer Northouse and I’ve been an educator for over 10 years.  I’ve been teaching science at Bryan Community since 2002.  Before then, I taught middle school in Falls City, NE.  I received my B.S. from Wayne State College in Wayne, NE and am working on a master’s degree in Applied Science through a program at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

My family includes my husband Jonathan, my children Alana (5) and Jackson (18 months) and our dog Barney. I spent my younger years growing up on a farm in the Sandhills of NE near Ericson, NE, where my parents still own and operate a dairy farm.  In my free time when I’m not chasing children around, I enjoy playing competitive volleyball, going to

My family and I at the Omaha Zoo this summer.

parks/being outside, watching The Walking Dead and Dr. Who (GO BBC!) and baking.

One of the reasons that attracted me to Bryan is the fact that you are acknowledged as an individual and not lost among the crowd.  The fresh start that Bryan provides gives students an opportunity they might never have had!

One of my dreams is to visit all 50 states.  The next stop on the list is the Pacific Northwest – I’d love to visit the redwood forest!
