Wysong School song lyrics

This was a request from students!

Paving the way, building our future

Paving the way, Ev-ry day

Paving the way, building our future,

Paving the way, Wysong Wolves

Watch me grow through hands-on learning

Hearing the richness of words,

Expressing myself through art and music

Exploring brand new worlds!

Create, discover and problem solve

That’s what our “Good Friend” said

Showing kindness to one and all

Thinking of others instead

We are Wysong Wolves

Here to learn and play

We are Wysong Wolves

Growing ev-ry day

Paving the way, every day

Paving the way, Wysong Wolves

Hello Wysong!

Hello Wysong families,

My name is Mrs. Bush and I am thrilled to be the first Music Specialist at Wysong Elementary.  I just finished my 27th year of teaching and my 15th year with LPS with additional teaching experiences in Kentucky and Ohio.  I also serve on the National Executive Board of the National Association for Music Education as President  of the North Central Division.  My passion is passing on my love of music by allowing students to CREATE, PERFORM, RESPOND AND CONNECT to music.  Please check my page to find contact information, music curriculum, essential learning outcomes, and important dates/events.

Please feel free to contact me at jbush@lps.org.  I’m looking forward to another great year of working with and getting to know all of my Wysong family!

The Met Opera’s HD Live in Schools 2019-20

Wysong School is fortunate to have been chosen by the New York Metropolitan Opera to be a part of their HD Live in Schools.  We are the only district in Nebraska  and one of only @50 schools across the country to be a part of this program.  The Met provides educational materials and free tickets for students in the 5th grade to attend Opera streamed live from the Met to the Ross Theater on UNL’s campus.  Tickets are available on a first come first served basis and permission slips are sent home before each performance.  Parents are always welcome to join us by purchasing their ticket at the Ross Theater before the show.  The study of Opera is an LPS benchmark for 5th graders in music.

Here is the 2019-2020 Season for 5th graders!

Saturday November 9 – Madame Butterfly

Saturday December 7 – The Magic Flute

Saturday March 14 – The Flying Dutchman
