Circle of Friends will be meeting every Wednesday from 3:15-4:00.  Circle of Friends is looking for peer mentors.  Students can direct any questions they have to Mrs. Carlson, Mrs. Granger, or Mrs. Covey.

 

Heads up – Chess Club will start Wednesday, September 20 in the cafeteria from 3:15-4:15.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Cox.

 

The first meeting of the Irving Chimney Swift Club will be this Thursday in Ms. Hughes’ room, room 114. We meet after school until 4:15. Do you care about the earth and nature? This club is for you! Invite a friend and come check it out this Thursday! See Ms. Hughes if you have questions.

 

Would you like to join engineering club? This awesome club introduces students to the field of ENGINEERING. When you join this club you will design, build, and test a bridge using engineering principles, the engineering design process, and special engineer’s notebooks! Additional benefits include interacting with, and learning from former Irving alum and “real life” engineering student about high school, being college bound, and STEM careers! You may sign up for this club at the rec center. This club will start Wednesday, September 13, so sign up today!

 

SOTW: The skill of the week is to ensure your phone is off and in your locker. When your phone is off and in your locker you are being a responsible, respectful student that understands this school wide expectation.

 

Attention Class of 2022: The Career Academy (TCA) is hosting a Career Explorations Fair for 8th -10th graders and their parents to learn more about top career options when you graduate high school. Experience the hands-on learning available at TCA and how to “test drive” your future as a TCA student in one of 20 career pathways. Attend the TCA Career Explorations Fair anytime between 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 24 at 88th & O. Park in the lower south parking lot at SCC, Register for prizes, meet TCA students and instructors and see how “doing high school differently” can make a huge difference in your future success.
