Visual Arts Education in the Lincoln Public Schools is designed so that students will

develop and apply ideas, knowledge, and skills to

CREATE, RESPOND to, PRESENT, and CONNECT art with the human experience.

using the creative process to make works of art using a variety of materials, exploring subjects and themes, developing individual expression, demonstrating perseverance and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve artistic goals.

 

 

 

 

Plan-using the steps of the Creative Process to solve a problem.

Imagine-multiple solutions to a problem.

Artistic Voice-expressing yourself.  Communicating ideas, feelings, thoughts, and emotions through their work.

Aesthetic Experience-experimenting and exploring a variety of media.

Exploring and being engaged with the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.

Process and Craftsmanship-Exploring and being engaged with a variety of techniques and being safe while creating art.

Describe-what’s going on? What do you see that makes you say that?  What more can we find? (subject matter, media, elements of art, principles of design, technique).

Interpret- how does the work make you feel and why?

Evaluate- communicate personal artistic choice and ideas.  I like this because… I chose this because…

Think of as many ideas/ solutions to the problem.

Brainstorm.

Collect information/do research.
