CS Explorations/6th

CS Explorations is a semester course, meeting every-other-day, which exposes students to a variety of computer science topics and design tools. The course is designed to attract and reach a broad and diverse range of students, including those who may have never experienced computer science courses prior to this school year. Students learn how to collaborate, communicate, computational thinking, and develop projects together in a fun and safe learning environment.  Creativity is key in this course.

Students will understand the steps of problem-solving by completing several unplugged and plugged programming activities.

Students will understand how a computer works and the process that is taken to complete a programmed task.

Students will use the Bitsbox online environment to learn about algorithms through Javascript coding; ultimately leading to the development of their own game.

Students will apply programming and problem-solving skills to manipulate Ozobot and Cue robots.
