Coming up this week! {1/27-1/31}

We have a lot of fun learning to look forward to this week! The 100th Day is here!!! We will be celebrating our 100th Day of school on Monday, January 27th! We can’t wait!

Literacy
We are continuing Unit 6 this week! Our essential question is “What happens in different kinds of weather?” We will be learning letter Kk  this week. Our high-frequency words this week are she & was. Our vocabulary words are: predict, temperature, drought, clever, storm. Our category words this week are weather words. Our grammar skill for the week is nouns with –s and -es.

Math
This week we will be taking our Unit 3 math test and starting Unit 4. We will be focusing on story problems and equations. We will be working on numbers 1-10. There will be a family letter and vocabulary sent home on Thursday.

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 3 writing! We will be learning about how details can be size words, how to take risks in spelling, how to use the appropriate punctuation, and how to use words to describe how something feels. We are becoming writers and it is so exciting to see!

Star of the Week…
We are excited to learn about Will this week.

–Library day this week is Thursday!
–Our 100th Day Celebration is tomorrow, January 27th! We are so excited!
–Tuesday is PLC Day! We will dismiss at 1:33 pm.
