Welcome back for the third week in 2nd Quarter! We have a lot of exciting learning to look forward to this week!

We are continuing Unit 3! Our essential question is “What places do you go during the week?” We are going to continue practicing the ABC chant each day. We will be learning letter Cc this week. Our high-frequency word this week is go. Our vocabulary words are: routine, neighborhood, volunteer, intelligent, local. Our category words this week are sequence words. Our grammar skill for the week is complete sentences.

Math
This week we will be continuing Unit 2. We will be focusing on numbers 1-10 and the -1 pattern. We will also work on hexagons and writing our numbers. Your child will be bringing home their math homework folder on Tuesday and Friday this week. Please be sure to have your child complete their homework and return it the next day.

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 2 writing! We are going to be working on spelling the best we can, what to do when friends help us try to spell, touch and reread, we spell the same words differently, and using periods at the end of a thought. We are becoming writers and it is so exciting to see!

Integrated…
We are going to continue our Weather and Seasons unit this week!  We are learning all about temperature, severe weather, and so much more!

Star of the Week…
We loved learning about Claire last week! Claire’s favorite color is pink, she is really good at singing, and she wants to be an artist when she grows up! We are excited to be learning all about Keegan this week!

Don’t forget! Library day this week is Wednesday!
Don’t forget! R.E.D. Folders are due on Friday!

We have so much to learn and look forward to this week! Thanks for partnering with us to make this a successful year in Kindergarten!
