Coming up this week! {4/15-4/19}

Welcome back for another week in Kindergarten! We have a lot of learning to look forward to this week!

Behavior Goals…
Our classroom and hallway behavior goal this week is “workstation rules.” Our lunchroom goal is “I will not play with  my food.”

We are finishing Unit 9 this week! Our essential question is “How can things in nature be used to make new things?” We are learning long o: o_e. We are learning the high-frequency words look & where. Our vocabulary words are: create, designs, knowledge, natural resources, and weave. Our category words this week are foods made from grain. Our grammar skill for the week is adjectives.

This week we will be continuing Unit 5. We will be working on numbers 1-20, partners of 6, 7, 8, and 9, and tens in teen numbers. There will be homework coming home on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 4 writing! We are continuing to learn about being more specific, adding key details, and using better verbs in our stories. We are writing some great stories in 4th quarter!

This week, we are finishing up our Math extension unit this week. We are also going to be starting our Plants unit. We are so excited to learn all about plants during Science.

Star of the Week…
We loved learning about Easton last week! His favorite color is blue, his favorite animal is a penguin, and he wants to be a video game creator when he grows up. We will resume Star of the Week on April 29th.

Don’t forget!
–Library day this week is Tuesday.
–No School on Friday, April 19th and Monday, April 22nd.

We have so much to learn and look forward to this week as we get further into 4th quarter! Thanks for partnering with us to make this a successful year in Kindergarten!
