Coming up this week! {2/4-2/8}

We have a lot of fun learning to look forward to this week!

Behavior Goals…
Our classroom and hallway behavior goal this week is “recess rules.” Our lunchroom goal is “I will clean up my mess.”

Literacy
We are finishing Unit 6 this week! Our essential question is “How can you stay safe in bad weather?” We will be reviewing letters Hh, Ee, Ff, Rr, Bb, Ll, and Kk  this week. Our high-frequency words that we will review this week are he, are, is, little, my, she, was, with. Our vocabulary words are: safe, prepare, notice, celebration, & enough. Our category words this week are question words. Our grammar skill for the week is nouns with –s and -es. We will be taking the first half of our high-frequency word test this week. We will be tested over the following words: my, are, with, he, is, little.

Math
This week we will be continuing to work in Unit 4. We will be focusing on teen numbers and equations, and addition and subtraction story problems. There will be homework on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 3 writing! We will be working more on adding details in our stories, writing big words, writing transition words, and learning about sentence fluency. We are becoming writers and it is so exciting to see!

Integrated…
We are going to be starting our unit on Weather and Sun this week!

Star of the Week…
We enjoyed learning about Hadley last week. Hadley’s favorite color is pink and her favorite animal is a horse. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. We are excited to learn about Will this week.

Don’t forget!
–Library days this week are Tuesday and Friday!
–Important parent-teacher conference information is coming home in Wednesday folders this week.
–There will be no R.E.D. folders this week due to the review week.
