Coming up this week! {1/14-1/18}

We have a lot of fun learning to look forward to this week!

Behavior Goals…
Our classroom and hallway behavior goal this week is “talking rules at workstations.” Our lunchroom goal is “stay in my seat.”


We are going to finish Unit 5 this week! Our essential question is “What kind of things grow on a farm?” We are now going to be focusing on 2 letters and 2 HFW each week. We will be learning letters Ff and Rr this week. Our high-frequency words this week are he & with. Our vocabulary words are: fresh, delicious, beneath, raise, special. Our category words this week are food words. Our grammar skill for the week is pronouns.

This week we will be continuing Unit 3. We will be focusing on teen numbers. We will be practicing number partners, and building teen numbers with classroom objects. There will be homework on Monday and Friday. Your student will need help with their family letter coming home on Thursday.

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 3 writing! We are going to learn different ways to start our stories, how to sound words out and how to write words we know in a snap. We are going to use known words to spell other words and practice making the middle the biggest party.

Star of the Week…
We are so excited to learn about Aviana this week!

–Report Cards will go home in Wednesday folders on 1/16/19.
–R.E.D. Folders are due back on Friday.

We have so much to learn and look forward to this week! We are also going to continue spending some time reviewing rules and expectations for school. We want to start out 2019 on a positive note and make sure that we are ready to learn and prepare for First Grade! Thanks for partnering with us to make this a successful year in Kindergarten!
