Coming up this week! {11/6-11/10}

Welcome back for the fourth week in 2nd Quarter! We have a lot of exciting learning to look forward to this week!

Behavior Goals…
Our classroom and hallway behavior goal this week is “to say our rules and practice them.” Our lunchroom goal is “to eat before talking.”

We are continuing Unit 3! Our essential question is “What places do you go during the week?” We are going to continue practicing the ABC chant each day. We will be learning letter Cc this week. Our high-frequency word this week is go. Our vocabulary words are: routine, neighborhood, volunteer, intelligent, local. Our category words this week are sequence words. Our grammar skill for the week is complete sentences.

This week we will be wrapping up Unit 2 and starting Unit 3. We will be focusing on partners of 5 and 6. We will work on numbers 1-10 and math stories using the park scene, groups of 10, and exploring partners through 6. Your child will be bringing home their math homework folder on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please be sure to have your child complete their homework and return it the next day.

Writer’s Workshop…
This week we are continuing Quarter 2 writing! We are going to be working on spelling the best we can, what to do when friends help us try to spell, touch and reread, we spell the same words differently, and using periods at the end of a thought. We are becoming writers and it is so exciting to see!

We are going to starting our Weather and Seasons unit this week!  We will learn all about temperature, severe weather, and so much more!

Star of the Week…
We loved learning about Raelyn last week! Raelyn’s favorite animal is a monkey, she is really good at gymnastics, and she wants to be a doctor when she grows up! We are excited to be learning all about Elliett this week!

Don’t forget! Library day this week is Wednesday!

We have so much to learn and look forward to this week! Thanks for partnering with us to make this a successful year in Kindergarten!
