Are you looking for an adventure this summer? Well, Creighton University offers a 7 day camp for gifted students that includes courses such as Ultimate Pattern Perfection, Digital Imagery, Religion in Popular Culture–Comic Strips, Nuclear Science, and Think and Act Like a Paramedic. Pick up an application and brochure in the counselors office or see Ms. Bruce with questions!

This Friday, March 12 we will enjoy another school wide breakfast provided by nutrition services. Everyone will be given a free breakfast in their period 9 classes. First floor period 9 teachers, please pick up the meals for your class.
North Star High School will have its Cheerleading informational meeting on Wednesday, March 10th at 6:30 pm in the North Star Media Center. Any students interested in trying out for cheerleading or the Dazzler dance team should plan to attend this meeting. If you have questions, please contact Coach Nevitt at North Star.
Yearbooks are now on sale in the main office. This years’ yearbook will be hardcover and in color. Please have exactly $17.00 in cash or a check for $17.00. We are unable to make change. Reserve your yearbook today!

Today is a Y Day.
Congratulations to the following Goodrich @ Dawes wrestlers who posted wins in last Saturday’s match: Matt Hansen, Adib Ayubzi, Brandon Carlisle, Ronaldo Ramos, Shawn Martin, Quinton Foster, Ryder Clark, Trenton Canby, Brandon Grady, Shelby Cook, Shah Ayubzi, Laytin Morgan and Gavin Henry. Both Laytin Morgan and Ronaldo Ramos won 3 matches a piece and were named the Goodrich @ Dawes most outstanding wrestlers for Saturday’s meet.
Congratulations to Goodrich students for collecting $136.72 in the first week of fundraising! Remember, Goodrich needs to raise $400 for the first place classroom to win the Olive Garden Party. The top 5 classrooms will all earn a prize. The top money collecting classes of the week were:

Let’s keep raising money for cancer research. There are 2 weeks left!
All across Nebraska and Iowa last year, students donated $229,000 in Pennies for Patients-that’s almost 33 million pennies! To get an idea of how heavy that is, 33 million pennies weighs 110 tons, which is equal to the weight of 18 average-sized elephants! Keep up the good work collecting money and remember to turn it in to your 1st period teacher!

Have you ever been REALLY hungry? Do you know someone who doesn’t always get enough to eat? Well, unfortunately hunger is a real problem for some students in Lincoln. But YOU CAN HELP! The BackPack Extra Mile Walk is a way to raise money for a program that sends food home with kids who otherwise wouldn’t have anything to eat. If you want to help, come to an informational meeting Tuesday morning at 7:35 in the auditorium! If you have questions, see Ms. Bruce in room 224. See you Tuesday!
