Mike Henninger, Principal
Welcome back to Goodrich Middle School. We are excited as we move back into our remodeled and expanded building, which will better serve our students in their effort to be proficient in reading, math, and writing. Our staff is working hard to make optimal use of our facility and engage our students in learning. We will host an open house in the fall to welcome all those who want to visit our new facility.
We are working hard to help our students see that their investment of time and effort in school has a direct effect on their lives. We want them all to envision their graduation from high school and the doors that will open for them. Please join with us in this effort and talk with your student about the world of possibilities that awaits them.
Our students are our most important focus and we take that responsibility very seriously. We want them to enjoy the special time in their lives called middle school, make the most of learning opportunities and gain skills they will use in their future.
I am looking forward to a great 2011-2012 school year!
Sincerely,
Mike Henninger
Goodrich Middle School opened in 1969. Goodrich was named after Thomas V. Goodrich, a teacher and administrator in the Lincoln Public Schools from 1903 until 1947. The school mascot was originally the Olympians. The student body selected the name “Olympians” during the first year Goodrich School was open. The name was selected to represent the variety of activities offered at Goodrich School. The student body also compared Belmont, a high place overlooking the city of Lincoln, to Mount Olympus.
