Your child will take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (Iowa), and the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) this year.  These exams are state wide, norm-referenced tests.  They are NOT based on what your child is being taught at school.  These are more broad measures of your child’s abilities.

Unfortunately, due to the fall scheduling of this test, there are often are portions of the exam that cover concepts we have yet to teach in class.  Fear not…these test are not a part of your child’s grade.

These exams take place in late October and early November.
