October 22nd, 2019 – Animal Rescue Week

Hello Families!

I hope you all had a great fall break, and were able to spend a little quality time relaxing.  Quarter two starts this week, and the kids will spend their week learning about animals, and how we can protect them.  We’ll practice rereading difficult texts, discuss author’s point of view, and learn about suffixes in our expository texts.  This is week 4 of unit 2, so we will have a spelling list this week.

In math class, we’re in the middle of Unit 2 still, and will spend the week practicing word problems, and begin to learn about the order of operations when it comes to equations with more than one operation.  We’ll also learn a couple of easy tricks to multiply numbers by ten.  In my class, I anticipate having homework every evening this week.  However, I might have to amend that plan if a lesson becomes too tricky, especially considering we’re learning a couple of new concepts.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Eric Wachter
