Monday, Oct. 1

Lesson Objective:  What factors affect population growth.
Opener:  A population’s exponential growth curve will turn into a “S” curve when it reaches the ___________.
Summary:  What factors might cause the carrying capacity of a population to change?

Tuesday, Oct. 2
Lesson Objective: I will learn what factors determine a carrying capacity for a population.
Opener:  Explain what the difference is between population density dependent factors and population independent factors.
Summary:  What caused the rat population explosion?  Give one  hypothesis that you can advance that will solve the problem.
Wednesday, Oct 3
Lesson Objective:  I will learn about human growth patterns over time and among different countries.
Opener:  Please list the 3 stages in a Demographic Transition.

Summary:  Why should people be cautious about introducing organisms into new environments?

Opener:  I will work in a cooperative manner to help my group have a great knowledge of the Ecology Unit.
Summary:  I will review items that I am still not real confident in my understanding.
  • Work in groups to establish a common understanding of all answers on the worksheet.
  • Ask questions in a total class setting to answer any further questions.
  • Complete any remaining formative exams on Quizstar as a review (remember they no longer count for your grade)(click here for link)
