Wednesday, Dec. 7

Lesson Objective: I will rethink what I know about Photosynthesis

Opener:  What are some differences between Light-Dependent and Light-Independent reactions in the process of Photosynthesis?

Summary:  While the process of Photosynthesis is occurring, what process is going on that releases the energy created by photosynthesis?

Thursday, Dec. 8

Lesson Objective:  Show that I am ready for the summative exam tomorrow over Ch 8

Opener:  List the energy sources for the light dependent and light independent phases of Photosynthesis.

Summary:  What is more important to the process of Photosynthesis, the sun or the moon?

  • quick questions over 8.2 & 8.3
  • overview of 8.1 (click for link)
  • take quizstar at home on-line (Chapter 8 review for no grade, Chapter 8 retake for a improved grade) (click for link)

Friday, Dec. 9

Lesson Objective:  Show that I have learned materials that I did not understand understand in the photosynthesis lessons from two week ago.

Opener:  Ask for clarification of material still confusing.

Summary:  Reflect;  What did this experience teach me about my ability to learn this material?

Week of December 12 – 16

Objective:  I will learn the stages that a cell will go through during its life.

Monday, Dec. 12

Lesson Objective:  I will learn that a cell can not grow too large.

Opener:  What are factors that influence the size of a cell?

Summary:  What will happen if a cell gets to big?

Tuesday, Dec. 13

Lesson Objective: I will learn the steps that a cell will undergo when it divides.

Opener:  How will the phrase, “Poor Molly Ate Tamales”, help me understand the sequence of stages of cell division?

Summary: What are the stages of Interphase?

Wednesday, Dec. 14

Lesson Objective: I will learn the controls of cell division.

Opener:  What is the enzyme the controls the life cycle of a cell.

Summary:  What is the process called that means that all living things are programed to die?

  • hand in worksheet for 10.2
  • Discuss 10.3 & 10.4 (click for link)
  • Mitosis lab (Identify P,M,A,& T)

Thursday, Dec. 15

Lesson Objective:  I will show that I know about the growth cycle of a cell or prepare for my final in Biology.

Opener:  I will have prepared a question to ask about material that is still confusing about the cell cycle.

Summary:  I will reflect on how well I prepared for the quiz today.

  • Quiz Star quiz over Ch 10 for Period 1 & 2
  • Hand out review for all classes for final on Final Week.

Friday, Dec. 16

Lesson Objective:  I will look up material that I am not certain of for my final in Biology or I will demonstrate that I know about the cell’s life cycle.

Opener:  I will have prepared a question to ask about material that is still confusing about the cell cycle.

Summary: I will reflect on how well I prepared for the quiz today.

  • Quiz Star for Ch 10 for periods 5 & 6
  • work on review for final.
  • retake of ch. 10 quiz (click for a link)

Objective: I will demonstrate that I have learned the material that the Lincoln Public Schools feels that I should know when I complete Biology I.

Monday, Dec. 19

Lesson Objective:  I will learn or clarify any material that I found that is confusing from Biology I

Opener:   I will have my list of review questions and be ready to share with my classmates my results

Summary:  I will leave the classroom very confident that I will pass the final.

  • Review study guide.

Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (Semester Final Schedule)

Lesson Objective:  Show that I have mastered the material of Biology I
