Facebook Page Worksheets

First off, thanks to all the students who are diligently working on their famous person interviews. I’ve seen some really great questions brought up and some good research to answer those questions.

As we finish up that portion of our unit, our next assignment will be for my students to make a faux-Facebook page for their famous person. Make sure you download it and save it to your eDisk!

Opinion Essays

These past few weeks, students have been working on creating Opinion Essays. Throughout the unit, students have learned the components of an opinion essay, how to give good support, and how to organize the essay. Lately, the students have been typing their essays into a program called Google Docs. Google Docs is a wonderful program because it allows people to share documents, spreadsheets, etc. with others. Students have been sharing their essays with me electronically and I have been able to write feedback right on their essays. The great thing about Google Docs is that it is accessible from home as well!

If a student needs to work on it from home, all they have to do is go to the LPS Homepage and type “goog” into the Keyword Search on the top-right. There, they type in their Student info and they are ready to view and edit their essay!
