3. ACDA Honor Choir 2021- Cancelled
There is an SSAA High School Honor Choir and a TTBB High School Honor Choir
Dates TBA, 2019: Online audition window. ACDA sponsor registers singers and submits recordings online. Audition fee: $30 per audition, non-refundable. Paid by debit or credit card online through secured server.

4. Doane Vocal Festival
Sunday and Monday, January TBD, 2021 in Crete, Nebraska.
Student needs to come and fill out an application, available in Mrs. Cotton’s office, and give it to Mrs. Cotton or Mr. Jacobson by Nov. 10. No audition is required. Acceptance is based on application and teacher ranking of applications. Juniors and Seniors ONLY!
Fee: Student will pay $35 if accepted. The cost will cover the cost of music, registration fees, and all meals in the Doane dining room.

5. University of Nebraska-Kearney Honor Choir

7. Nebraska Young Artist Awards

Audition audio file — Deadline: Friday, December 6, 2019 3-minute solo, classical repertoire, letter of recommendation from teacher. Open to Juniors only! See LSW Music Teachers if interested and if you need a letter of recommendation.
Students may apply in music, theatre, film and new media, dance or visual art.

Selected students will be invited to come to UNL for a day of activities that will offer opportunities to visit classes and rehearsals; tour facilities; meet with faculty members; and go to lunch with faculty members and college students. The day will end with an awards ceremony.

8. “Amahl and The Night Visitors” – December 12 and 13, 2019
Rotation starting this year: 2019 High Schools = LSW, LNE, LNS. Each school provides at least 8 singers (SSAATTBB)
This is a collaborative opera with LPS High Schools and the UNL Opera Department, under the direction of Dr. William Shomos. Singers from 3 LPS High School rehearse with UNL staff and perform 4 performances for elementary schools at the UNL Theater Dept. Auditorium. There will be 2 public performances for parents to attend on Saturday, December 14 @ 1:30 or 3:00pm (see below). This is a Beautiful One-Act Opera (1 hour long) that tells the story of a young crippled boy and his mother that are visited by the Three Kings on their journey to Bethlehem to see the Christ Child. Be sure to bring your kleenex!!
LPS/UNL has been doing this collaborative for 16 years, performing for Title I elementary students throughout the district.
For this year:
A UNL Doctoral student will be coming to LSW 4 times during Oct-Dec to help you learn the music. This rehearsal will be at 7:25am-8:00am beginning Oct. 30, 2019. The morning rehearsal dates are:
Oct. 30, Nov. 6, Nov. 20, Dec. 4
The students will commit to going to UNL for the following dates. ALL on-campus rehearsals AND performances will take place in Westbrook Room 130.

Tuesday, December 10 – 3:30-6:30pm Tech/Dress
Wednesday, December 11 – 3:30-6:00 pm Tech/Dress
